PASIG CITY, Mar. 5 -- Project Smarter Philippines through Data Analytics R&D, Training and Adoption (SPARTA) continues to fulfill its mission of furthering the data science and analytics (DSA) ecosystem in the country by releasing more courses in its second year of implementation.
Based on the recent data, the project has now 18 courses on the Coursebank website which learners can access for free through a DOST scholarship.
The eighteen available SPARTA courses are comprised of 17 DSA courses and one FOI course. The FOI 101 or Freedom of Information: An Introduction was developed by the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO), through the Freedom of Information Project Management Office (FOI-PMO), and was made possible by the Memorandum of Understanding between PCOO and the Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP).
Meanwhile, the remaining 17 are part of the 30 courses committed by SPARTA to train and educate Pinoys in the DSA field. With the addition of SP701 SQL for Data Engineering, the project has now delivered more than half or 56.67% of its target number of courses. Aside from the free learning, SPARTA scholars can choose among the six pathways offered by the program and can earn course and pathway certificates.
SPARTA now has more than 24,000 enrolled learners and is optimistic in attaining its goal of training and graduating 30,000 data-driven and DSA-oriented Filipinos. The project is currently celebrating Women’s Month by featuring trailblazers in data science and analytics. It will also be launching its second Conference these upcoming months.
