OCTOBER 26, 2022- Project Smarter Philippines through Data Analytics, R&D, Training, and Adoption (SPARTA) has extended the registration, team creation, and entry submission process for its Hackathon and Open Data Challenge for Cauayan City until October 31, 2022 at 11:59 p.m.

The extension was implemented to give interested participants ample time to join the competitions and create their data-driven outputs.

SPARTA first launched the data-driven competitions in 2021 to utilize data in developing solutions to the challenges faced by local government units (LGUs) in the country. SPARTA previously partnered with the city of Butuan in Agusan del Norte and is now collaborating with Cauayan City, Isabela to help address their local issues.

SPARTA’s industry partners, Shopee and foodpanda Philippines, have also provided their support in these data-driven initiatives. The two companies will provide special awards to winners of the competitions along with the merchandise and cash prizes to be given by the SPARTA project team.

Filipinos currently in the country who are at least high school graduates with knowledge in Data Science and Analytics (DSA) can join via SPARTA’s website at https://sparta.dap.edu.ph. DSA newbies, career shifters, and SPARTA scholars are also encouraged to join. As an additional perk, scholars can use their outputs in lieu of their pathway capstone course once they reach the pitching stage of the competitions.

Further details about these competitions can be found via the project’s social media pages at Project SPARTA PH.
