To lessen the effects of inequalities, the local government unit is in the best position to bring people together and enforce policies that encourage them to take part in the development. Butuan City realizes the importance of data-driven policies to identify places for the establishment of infrastructure to support economic growth, security, and safety of the people, and in providing a healthy environment for all. This mission is attainable through the conduct of hackathons that will utilize the city’s datasets to develop solutions for a more organized and orderly community. 

This initiative will not just encourage people to take part in the development process, but will surely help communities create additional livelihood opportunities, address solid waste management, solve territorial disputes, improve infrastructure, and ensure proper sanitation.
