Global warming exacerbates the deplorable situation in vulnerable areas of society.  To address this threat, Butuan City plans to harness the power of Data Science and Analytics to employ data-driven solutions that can help ensure the safety of informal settlers, private dwellers, and individuals living in areas vulnerable to calamities. 

To achieve this goal, the city aims to establish an information hub where digitized data sets are utilized in the development of data-driven innovations through the conduct of local hackathons. The entries from these events will then be used as a guide or basis for the city’s plans to transform its locality into a climate change-resilient community.
