Development is commonly seen in the form of infrastructure which provides people more access to opportunities and innovations. Infrastructure is therefore an important instrument in the livelihood of citizens, especially in the tourism sector. To contribute to the strengthening of this sector, Butuan City aims to identify the movement of tourism growth using data science and analytics.

To achieve this, the city wants to collect digitized data sets and build a centralized information hub where these can be stored and used in hackathons that will develop innovations that can uphold regional organizations in the tourism sector.
