Upholding development comes together with appropriate protection of natural resources that support economic growth and sustenance of a community. 

To support this mission, Butuan City is planning to implement innovative solutions using data science and analytics to pursue legislation in the protection of forestland ecosystems against threatening degradation from exploitation, illegal activities, and global warming. 

Through the power of data science and analytics, datasets will be used in hackathons to produce ideas that can help the city protect its forestland ecosystem.
